Telewest shares!!

Havn't really been following the news as much as I should because of the exams and that, but I just logged into my bullbearings site today (fantasy stocks)

It appears that if I'd bought those 100,000 telewest shares at 0.05p (£5000) then I'd be looking at a share price of 118p and therefore would have made about £112,00 0.

Was just wondering if anyone actually DID invest during the changeover??

I know I wish I'd spent my money there rather than stupid medical drinks

Re: Telewest shares!!

The reason the Telewest stock went so cheap was because 98% or so was being wiped out by a debt for equity swap so it was priced into the stock.

You'd have made nothing from the debt for equity swap. You'd have received like 1 new share for every 49 old ones (can't remember the exact figure I think 98% is generous if anything could have been even worse for shareholders) so that stuff is a bit inaccurate.

Telewest stock following the equity swap never went that low.

The other minor issue is of course that Telewest stocks aren't traded anymore. TLWT was rolled into NTLI on 3rd April.

Happy to help

Your investment would have been heavily diluted by the debt for equity swap, to the tune of 98% at least, so that 5k would have been worth, erm, £100.
