MPAA accused of hiring a hacker

If true, is kind of ironic for the MPAA to use such a tactic in their approach

Re: MPAA accused of hiring a hacker

Oooh, Torrentspy, i go there to read the news, is there another way i can read that news from the site if it gets shut down? It's often quite interesting.

The MPAA hire a hacker... Makes sense to me, how else would they get the documents they needed? They think they're above the law, when really all they're meant to be doing is enforcing it.

It doesn't make sense to me. Any information or evidence they gain will be inadmissible in court, so likely to be useless.

I concur, actually i have no idea why i wrote that to be honest, just re-read it and i agree, the information is useless.

Why do they even need to do this though, they have the site listing torrents, and to me, as long as torrentspy isn't posting them itself and just offering a user directory created by and for users then there should be no problem. But, ithen again i guess they are giving these people space to do such a thing.

Re: MPAA accused of hiring a hacker

I just think it's rather hypocritical of the MPAA (if they did do this) that they are happy to break a law to enforce a law

They don't, no. But their British counterparts certainly do!

Re: MPAA accused of hiring a hacker

They are just *********.

Who wants to put money on 99% of the people they have working for them, download of torrent sites and p2p applications at home?

With such a thing going on, it is likely the staff slack abot making it harder work for the company to do it's job.
