Thinking of moving
We have the essential tv package, 2MB Broadband and talk evenings and weekends but with the recent launch by the carfone warehouse with free 8MB broadband forever unlimited calls anytime to landlines and 30 countries and you dont have to pay line rental to BT for £20.99 a month its a big saving. we have never had any problems with telewest but if we can get sky and that for £40.99 saving £15 a month is it worth it?

Re: Thinking of moving
On the face of it, yes.
However, no one knows how well Carphone Warehouse will perform. Depending on how much they spend on their connection, it may not be a good service. ATM, it is too early to say for sure whether they will be good.

Re: Thinking of moving
Out of interest we took a look at this deal and found out that the broadband uses LLU connection which is not available on our Dumbarton exchange. They did offer us the deal but plus £10 a month to cover the broadband up to 8Mb part. No doubt there will be many disappointed punters trying for this deal not knowing it may not be available to them. The only thing they say on the site is that you must have a BT line. It is only when you try to order that they tell you broadband is LLU. We are very happy with the Telewest 10Mb connection.

From what I saw the website is quite clear on this matter and has an availability checker to verify this.

Re: Thinking of moving
i was thinking and other providers such as telewest will start to lower there prices too because they will find this a threat and loose a great deal of customers?

Re: Thinking of moving
Well obviously, Telewest aren't going to give out free broadband, but they should certainly lower their prices if they're charging £35/month for 10Mb when there is another company offering 8Mb for FREE, are they?
