Well today was great!!!
It feels like everything wanted to happen today at Asda where I work. I work in the Photoshop, i will explain what happened.
7:45am
I go and collect my mobile from the office, walk down staires and this old woman was following me. I knew she was, i was going different ways and she was still following me. Went in the warehouse and came and she was gone! Phew!
7:55am
Arrive at Photoshop with money and keys and I have a queue! (Doesnt open till 8:30am). So I tell them I cannot serve till 8:30 and they were moaning. Blah Blah Blah. I told them to see the manager, they did, heard nothing onwards.
10:15am
A loud voice over the tanoir at customer service desk shouts "FIRST AIDER TO THE CUSTOMER RESTAURANT IMMEDIATLY!". I thought I best go so I went, a woman was having an epiletic fit. I dealt with that normally.
12:00
Just before i went to lunch i went to security to get some soft tags, go into the room and about 6 camera are pointing onto the photoshop! Went to lunch and was worring thinking that they think im stealing things.
3:30am
Fire alarms go off. Loud things! So theres me and this other girl just chatting and we are like "erm, should we go?". Customers are taking no notice to it. Then the receptionist shouts down the tanoir
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please evacuate the building immediatly. This is a fire alarm" she repeated that 5 times.
So theres me having a heart attack trying to lock all the cubboards and locking the tills and making sure no one nicks any cameras.
Was outside for half hour till firebrigade came to reset the alarms. (Was false alarm!).
All colleagues had to go to back carpark while customers where at front of store.
Me and my mate went to front of store because photoshop is right at the front. And I get asked by everything single person, "Whats happening". FFS, dont they know?
Was pushing my way to the front because collegaues in first then customers, went it and it felt really weird. Just trollies stopped still, looked really weird.
4pm
"SERVICE 5000 to CHECKOUT 4" over the tanoir! Which means there is a fight, someone needs help or someone is trying to nick something. When colleagues hear that, anyone who is not doing anything has to go to it. I went and so did about 50 other colleagues went. A bloke stole £900 out of checkout 4 and ran for it. No one caught him! Funny thing is, he left £5 for his yogurts?!

When each casier finish's their shift or if the till becomes full before then, they fill out a bag and put it in their safe under the till. But, this girl was working till 8 and so firstly, the till wasnt emptied and security dont come round till 6 anyway.
You dont understand how much we take it so little time. If you think about it, half pay cash and half pay by debit/credit card. You take cash every say 10 mins? roughly each shop is £100. there could have easily been more than £900.
found out today he also grabbed about 100 debit/credit dockets! those dockets include everything. your sig, bank number, issue number, name etc...
hopefully asda are doing the right thing and getting in contact with the card holders banks!

Hmm I seem to recall another thread which you posted over at .com about concerns over you being overworked and having some concerns about being a first aider although judging by this you are now happy with that.
I asked when that thread was going on what store you worked at and you declined to reply.

Again ill ask what store was it???
The reason I ask is I know the area manageress personally for the Watford Region and this will not happen.

As for the dockets and card business you will if you have worked on the checkouts notice that the card is swiped and the information is stored on the computers and the till roll and the printout given to the customer to sign and then placed in the till and the copy given back to the customer has asterisks in the card number and only the last six digits of the card number are shown.
Easily checked when you ask for cash back on a purchase and they ask to check your bill and initial the cash back and the card number is asterisked out.
Again ill ask which store is this and I can assure you without getting you involved the correct procedure will be sorted.
