Which dialup ISP?

I have NTL broadband at home, but I would like occasional mobile internet access from my laptop and PDA via my mobile phone. Can someone recommend a decent and cheap dialup ISP that I could use for this?

Re: Which dialup ISP?

If you are doing it from your Mobie, wouldn't you be better getting a data package from one of the mobile airtime providers ?

I'm not sure that it would, as it is such occasional use that I expect to make of it. E.g. the cheapest data bundle on Orange (my provider) is £4 per month (for 4 MB). I don't expect to use anything like that. So dialup seems to be a likely option, if there is a good one out there - any ideas?

Re: Which dialup ISP?

Forgive me if im wrong, but you cannot use your mobile phone to call data lines, you have to use your Mobile providers services.. as Mobile phones dont have a modem in the classic sense of the word

Re: Which dialup ISP?

Yeah you can use most mobile phones to call Data lines but likeklihood is that you'd only get 9.6kbps (Standard GSM rates) so you'd be far better off using GPRS.
