Upload speeds

Hi i am on Telewest 1mb and I am getting these speeds.. Are these correct, As I really want my upload to be higher, If i go on 10mb will it upgrade my upload?

Downstream
962 Kbps (120.3 KB/sec)

Upstream
120 Kbps (15.0 KB/sec)

Your upstream is correct. On the Broadband Complete and Broadband Elite packages however your upload speed should read around 384kbps. (45 KB/sec)

Obviously this is subject to line loss.

No it isn't there's no 'line loss' on cable, it's not the same as DSL there is no distance factor that should affect speeds.

If the Telewest 1MB service has a 128kbps upload (and I think it does) then that is correct.

Going up to a higher level would give you a quicker upload speed.

Ok thanks for your help, Im gonna go on 4 or 10mb then, As what would the download speed be on the 4 and 10mb connections?

Yeah it should be pretty instantaneous, it just involves them sending a new configuration to the modem and it should reboot on its own
