iIs there an 01 or 02 telephone number for support? Or am I forced in to dialling at national rate? Thanks!

Re: Geographic 01 number for support?

If you dial 0800 052 2000 and choose option 3 for faults there should be a broadband one (or there was last time I tried it)

Edit: Just tried it but it redirects you to ring the 0845 number

Re: Geographic 01 number for support?

dialled the 0800 number. did option 3. and it gave me the 0845 blurb. waited... and it connected me anyway. so the 0800 no does still put you through. woowoo. thanks

Just tried it myself. If you can withstand that geordie idiot trying to use simple language then you do get there eventually. I then managed to get through to a welsh service anouncement explaining that there were problems.

Re: Geographic 01 number for support?

If I remember correctly 0845, should equate to local rate (but won't be a discounted local rate you get with some tarifs). 0870 numbers equate to national rate.

0845 is about 3p/min and 0870 is a preimum rate at 10p/min

As Rob C said, 0870 is charged at the national rate, which, with BT, is 7.51p per minute during weekday daytime, 3.75p per minute in the evenings & 1.5p per minute at weekends (or less, depending on which numbers follow the 0870 prefix).

0845 also does not get included with free local calls on Talk Unlimited Local.

Just to confirm 0845/0870 numbers are not free on any call plan

Re: Geographic 01 number for support?

Whole list of alternative numbers more likely to be in your talk plan here.

Just type "ntl" into the company name box and see what's listed.

The lovely Geordie telling you to dial the 0845 number tells you the max rate from a BT line ... but fails to mention ntl:. Am I the only one who finds it strange that an ntl: support line doesn't support callers from its own network?

But hanging onto the 0800 no. still gets you through, although I did get an e-mail from them telling me I used an out of date phone no. and should please dial the expensive ones in future. I just got the number off the back of their most recent bill...

Re: Geographic 01 number for support?

For main customer service (150/0800 052 2000) the old Nottingham number still seems to work.

0115 9522222

Not too sure about a number that equates to the new BB TS though.

Still at least the Nottingham number will be included in peoples call plans.

Can't see this as anything more than a cynical money making ploy though. How it costs them to provide a freephone number on their own network is beyond me.

Even if they can't afford the cost of calls from outside the network they could have kept 150 and provided a geo number for external callers. Guess that doesn't generate any cash to give to the shareholders though does it!

Edit - Just checked the unverified numbers list on saynoto0870 and they have two numbers, one for Bromley platform and one for Langley - no menu either!

01256751047 Langley

01256751046 Bromley
