Connection problem

The other day, while fannying around,i connected my pc to the internet via my Nokia 6270.
It worked ok (albeit a bit slow!), but now i'm having problems connecting with my cable modem.
I can go online with it for a few mins then it just stops and gives me the 'working offline' message.
I've looked in network connections in control panel and it says that i'm online but when i go on the internet (and online gaming),i dont get a connection.
To get back online,i have to disconnect the modem from the mains and wait for it to reset.
Can anyone please help?

It sounds like you have changed a seeting somewhere so that something on your computer thinks you are on dial up rather than a fixed modem. A timeout is operating on your computer, rather than a modem, although curioously rebooting the modem makes the PC think the connection is back in use again.

Re: Connection problem

Dunno, is there a dial up connection in Network Connections? If so try deleting / disabling. You could look in Internet Explorer Tools > Connections for anythign rouge in there too.
