Re: virgin media 10gb broadband
108.11 (a, b, g) are all just the name of the "standard" used (tells the techies the speed and range, but doesn't mean much to real people ) but the 54 part is the top speed that it's supposed to achieve (in MBits).
The Linksys WRT54G is a 108.11g 54MBit router so will work fine, as the incoming cable modem speed is only 10MBit.
Hope that helps.

Re: virgin media 10gb broadband
Um... No. 108.11g is 54MBit. Not sure there's such a thing as 108.11x... Or rather, I've never heard of it.

Re: virgin media 10gb broadband
x being substituted for any letter, such as b, g or n. And the IEEE standard for wireless LAN is 802.11, not 108.11

Re: virgin media 10gb broadband
Oh I'm with you now. Yes, my mistake. Not sure why I'd put 108.11 lol. Sorry about that. It's been a while since I got rid of my wireless network.
