AMD I was reading in micromart this week are tabling a a 4 core cpu for the M2 as soon as early next year.Intel will not be anywhere near this by then.Theres no doubt the Conroes will be good cpus but I see them being expensive.
James have you noted how pretty much all main plans from both cpu companies are based on multi core cpus.Just look at the FX60.Think I said quite a while ago multi core would be the gamers choice

they are probably multi core as they are reaching the limits of current cpu manufacturing technology. Its easier to make lower spec chips and whack 2 together. Less strain on each chip too.

That is the case. But its also a tested practice for heavy usage computing. As I have always said no one just runs 1 app at a time.My experiences of the dual core are awsome.Yes my cpu is clocked a couple of hundred mhz lower yeah my 3 d mark scores are a bit lower but things that ised to interfere with my game play are no longer in existance no more cpu lag when virus scan updates no more cpu lag when the anticheats are running there scan.I love dual core and cant wait to test out a quad
Note also the Conroe core appears to benchmark higher only in gaming not in the other tests
The differences in the real world imo will not be noticed and both set ups used 2 X1900 cards crossfired. How many of us are going to do this? These benchmarks imo are false as are most benchmarks out there
