Arrow DECT Phones

Hi,

OK - here's one for you all!

The GF's parents want a cordless phone.

Currently - here's the situation:

- Main phone line is half-way up the stairs - there is no mains electric socket nearby
- There's an ADSL splitter going into the BT socket and off of that is the ADSL modem and main phone.

Now - the question is...

The GF's parents want to move the phone to the living room - so the new DECT phone will be near a electrical socket (for charging etc).

This would involve running a telephone extension cable from the ADSL splitter into the living room.

So - will the ADSL still work (I assume so - nothing is changing there), and would the DECT "Master" phone work ok even though it's running through and extension?

Thanks for the advice!

Lee

Re: DECT Phones

My DECT base station works fine on an extension socket - it's just an ordinary phone as far as the BT line is concerned. Don't know about ADSL, but can't see any reason it would have problems.

Don't forget, you still need a 'real' phone somewhere as DECT phones won't work in a power cut.

Re: DECT Phones

Not sure if this is relevent to this situation but:

You can have the base plugged into the powerpoint and the telephone line.

And then you can have anouther phone somewhere else not near a phone socket, but plugged into power.

This is true of my digital phones anyway..
