Linsys BEFSR41 NAT error

Just downloaded Azureus and i like the feel of it over BitLord but when trying to open my NAT to allow port 6881 Azureus says the port failed? Tried testing a few other ports (after allowing them through the NAT) and they also fail??

I set up the router using Port Range Forwarding if that helps anybody!

I hope this is an easy one to fix

Shabbs.

hiya, Azureus supports Upnp, so you shouldn't need to port range forward if you have upnp enabled in the router

<edit> also, as far as I know, if you do use port forwarding, you also have to disable 'block wan request' on the filters page of the router setup..

Dodger: Yes i did see the link. It's built into Azureus

homealone: I enabled upnp and disabled port forwarding. Azureus came back at me with around 4 errors. Can't find a page on my router that allows you to block wan requests

I havn't played with it much, to be honest, so don't really know what else to advise.

If you want to try again with the port fprwarding, the 'block wan requests' is on the filters page in the advanced settings & should , as far as I know, be 'disabled' i.e. allow wan requests - it worked ok for me, I set that & forwarded ports 6881-6889 for TCP & UDP to 192.168.1.100 (although check that IP is correct with ipconfig).

- that was with bittorrent, though, Azureus seemed ok with upnp, for me, but bittorrent with port forwarding was faster.

Re: Linsys BEFSR41 NAT error

Silly me!

I have three Pc's connected to the router and the IP was pointing to my daughters machine. Changed a few settings and voila, all ok again

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.
