just upgraded to 2mb

Engineers just been round to fit the Samsung box. I asked him if the speed upgrade would be ready immediately. He went into the diagnostics screen and said because one of the settings was 'silver' it had already been done.

However, running a few speedchecks it appears to still be on 1 mb (eg Speakeasy 956kbps). Will it change shortly, or is a dreaded phonecall to Customer Services in order?

try rebooting the modem - turn it off for a minute or so then back on

Re: just upgraded to 2mb

Had similar problem with mine and was told it was already on 2MB but was getting less than 1MB

All i did was open command prompt and type ipconfig /release

followed by ipconfig /renew and it fixed mine.

Now i'm not suggesting it will work for you or even that it worked for me [it may have just coincided with NTL swapping me]but after that i was on 2MB.

As mentioned phone CS and chase them up,it's rapidly becoming a hobby of mine calling CS we are on 1st name terms
