TIVO and set top box channel changing

Hi there - new poster, have read users comments, esp jimbo, but still need help. Have telewest PACE box and a TIVO, have difficulty with the channel changing using TIVO wands, about 1 in 5 changes fails either because box does not read commands in full or because box freezes up. Have seen on TIVO site
(http://customersupport.tivo.com/know...lic/tv1024.htm option2)
that there is a serial cable from settop box to TIVO which should allow internal channel changes, does anyone have experience of this, and where it can be got, or if not any other ideas? Many thanks.

Re: TIVO and set top box channel changing

Have you checked out the TiVo Community UK Forum? There's some very knowledgable folk in there, and the problems of getting TiVo to talk to set top boxes (including cable boxes) have been discussed many times.

Start here - you'll find various digital cable discussions linked to about half way down:

I use TiVo with our NTL (Pace 2000) box. Although the box has a socket for connected a direct remote control signal, AFAIK it has never been enabled by NTL.
