Projectors
Anyone have much experience with them?
I'm after one for home cinema/gaming use, with at least 1024x768 resolution. I'm serously considering the Dell 3400MP. Good resolution, good brightness, bulbs aren't too expensive and are easily available. Any thoughts?
Ta muchly in advance

Re: Projectors
I've always heard that the bulbs cost loads to replace so make sure you find out which bulb and model it needs before you buy.

I bought one of these earlier this year, and have to say it's a fabulous piece of kit (well, 2nd one is - the first had a display fault from the start so I had the fun of dealing with Dell's CS staff for over an hour! Was replaced within 10 days of reporting fault so no complaints there).
The built in speaker is naff though, so ensure you have decent PC sound or a hook-up to a proper sound system. All the leads you should need are supplied with it.

Re: Projectors
Richer Sounds are currently selling a Panny branded screen for £75 down from £200.

Re: Projectors
I have an Infocus 4805 and its fed with a digital signal from the DVD player.
Absolutly awsome picture.
games look ok if you feed the projector with S-VHS signal.

Jeez - spend the best part of £900 on a projector and then project it onto bog-roll. There is a reason screens exist, they can improve the image far beyond projection onto a wall or bog roll or anything else.

I work in the AV industry as a tech. We only use this company for screens. Industry standard. http://www.da-lite.com/dalitehometheater/index.php
Might be a bit pricey for home use though!!
