its hard to believe performance is this low but until last week the service was at least useable near the marketed speed.

robin walker's test is bad for that reason, its hardly a fair way to measure ntl's internet performance if it isnt leaving ntl's network. The results below would make me think great nothing wrong. The local conditions are not causing the low speed it is ntl's saturated amsterdam router.

1st 128K took 546 ms = 240059 Bytes/sec = approx 1997 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 516 ms = 254016 Bytes/sec = approx 2113 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 563 ms = 232810 Bytes/sec = approx 1937 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 484 ms = 270810 Bytes/sec = approx 2253 kbits/sec
