CallerId & DECT

Can anyone report if they have a BT Synergy 3105 working with NTL/telewest caller id (bellcore style not BT)... or anything similar...

The cablecos and BT typically use a different protocol for caller id. I'm signed up to Bulldog who support the cable version... and need some new dect phones...

Re: CallerId & DECT

Caller ID wont work unless the Mux has had the 10/30 channel Line Cards upgraded to CLI.(A tech has to physically swap these out)
The only way you'll find out is by ringing NTL. AND as these cards cost over £1000 each, there are a lot of mux's out there not done.

Re: CallerId & DECT

Actually I'm posting here as NTL use the same CLID protocol as Bulldog (cable and wireless), but I do have CLID capability (works fine with a Binatone MD1000)

Re: CallerId & DECT

I have caller ID working fine on NTL with a couple of DECT phones (BT ones - but I cannot remember the model).

The only issue is that sometimes when we ring from home it shows "private number" and other times it does not however I am sure this is a setup on the phones rather than enything on the line. (we do not hide the number by default).

Re: CallerId & DECT

We have caller ID on our line too. We had it when we were with BT years ago and stipulated we wanted it with ntl (Comcast back then) when we switched to them when they first cabled the town about ten years ago. We've always had it while we've been with them.

I've used various phones over the years (usually a newer model Binatone, great value for money phones), two of them multi-handset DECT units, and a seperate Caller Display unit, all have worked fine.
