Changing my ip address

Without going into details, i'd like to change my IP, i've tried releasing and renewing it, switching my modem off at the power and that hasnt changed it/ What can I do to get a new IP address?

Get a new network interface card if that is what you are currently using or switch to a NIC if you are on USB.

What do you mean by NIC? Ethernet? I tried switching to ethernet, but my PC never picked up the modem when I plugged it in via the ethernet.

If you switch connections from usb to ethernet or vice versa you will need to reboot the modem aswell

I dont want to start a new topic and get flamed.. but out of all the IP addresses i have. I always have one of two subnets.. do subnets ever change, or are they with the area for life. (lol i got subnet banned twice off a server)
