Apologies this is quite long , but trying to be as descriptive as possible to get some help...
I recently bought the red eye remote for my Telewest di4000-tc digital box but I can't seem to get it working with my digisender video/IR repeater system to control the tv in another room.
I also bought a couple of ntl blue remotes from ebay, but whats wierd is that they seem to control the telewest box with and without the red eye remote stuck to the front.
I still cant figure out whether it is the red eye remote or the digisender that is not working properly especially since the IR eye for the digisender is placed millimeters away from the red eye remote. I have tried placing the red eye remote in slightly different positions but to no avail. I can see the red eye remote flashing when I press a button with the blue remotes so it recognises the signal; and the digisender transmitter connected to the telewest box flashes when a button is pressed at the digisender/tv in the other room, so it must be sending the right command. The IR eye for the digisender that is placed in front of the red eye remote doesnt flash, but i'm not sure if its supposed to?
The only thing I haven't tried yet is removing the thin layer of clear sticky plastic on the display of the telewest box, I was waitng until I got the red eye remote working in the right position before it was permanently stuck to the front, but that shouldn't really matter unless its distorting the signal somehow.
Have anyone had any experience using digisenders with the red eye remote? Just wondered if anyone had a any suggestions or knew how I could determine whether the problem lies with the red eye remote or the digisender - before I attempted to replace the IR eye.
Cheers for your help
