"IRA" assets seized

BBC
Quote:
Properties worth £30m and believed to be owned by the IRA have been seized in a number of searches in Manchester.
About 250 properties, with equity of £9m and linked to two businessmen, were seized by the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA), said a statement on Wednesday.
The seizures are believed to follow investigations into the business and financial affairs of Thomas "Slab" Murphy, an IRA man from South Armagh.
Murphy is widely considered to be the head of the IRA.

Re: "IRA" assets seized

Stops them buying more guns, I suppose. Or more ammo for their 'personal protection weapons'.

Re: "IRA" assets seized

If it can be proven that the assets siezed are IRA assets then it will seriously impact their current ability to do a lot of things. No doubt that this is only the tip of the asset mountain though

All that money is now useless. The Northern Bank changed their notes. As far as I know its been burned by the guys who took it.

Re: "IRA" assets seized

Not forgetting of course that there have been no convictions whatsoever for the robbery and that the last few comments are based on nothing more than hearsay.
