contract situation when moving house
hi,
can anyone help me with this.
If you move house and transfer your NTL services from your old house to your new house(using the old equipment) are you automatically tied into a new 12-month contract starting from the day you transferred?
thanks

Re: contract situation when moving house
I am pretty certain that you will not be tied into a new 12-month contract unless you add any services (broadband, for example) at the same time. However, I am not 100% certain so will leave it for somebody else to confirm or deny.

It is possible, as the 3 for £30 deal is supposed to be only for new customers who would have a 12-month minimum contract period.
Can anybody else provide any insight?

i posted a thread about this at the time i got the deal. NTL was telling everyone that it was for 'new customers only' but I phoned them up and challenged them about it because in the tariff guide(at the time) it didnt specify that the deal was for new customers only, the guide showed it as an available deal for existing customers(I started banging on about false advertising etc.) After arguing with a few of the CS people they eventually conceded and told me I was right and i have been on the deal ever since.
would this now mean im on a new 12-month contract?

Moving house does NOT start a new 12 month contract. Only if you take up new services would that happen.

As orangebird said, moving would not put you on a new 12-month contract unless you signed-up for new services. Did you have TV, phone and BB before you had the 3 for £30 offer?

yes i did have all 3 services before i got the offer and moved, and ive been with ntl for years prior.
the reason i ask this is because im only renting the place im in for 6 months so when i move again, and if the new place doesnt have ntl, then i dont want to have to pay the remaining 6 months of a 12 month contract.
