using analogue pass-thru for freeview

I have analogue pass-thru on my stb which i use, via the tv-out connection on the back of the box, to feed a tv in my bedroom to get channels 1-5. If I connected a freeview box to this connection would I get all the freeview channels?

Re: using analogue pass-thru for freeview

No it won't work. The analogue pass through from the cable network is terrestrial channels 1-5 only (BBC1 & 2, ITV 1, Ch4 and Five).

The passthrough will contain no digital signal that you get over a standard external aerial. Its that digital signal the freeview box decodes.

Just to double-check, are you sure you mean pass-thru and not a combiner? Do you have an aerial plugged into it?

If you have an aerial it would be a combiner and this should still carry the Freeview signals.

If you have no aerial it is a pass-thru and will not carry any Freeview signals.
