STB RF Output help

I think my parents have a 4000 series PACE STB, there is a single RF out on the back labelled "TV".

At the moment there is no signal coming out of this connector, I looked at the STB help thread and it appears I may need to change the RF out channel to something above channel 21 to make it work, I will try that tonight and see if that's the problem.

My question is, once the RF out is enabled, will I get channels 1,2,3,4,5 on the RF out aswell as the RF output of whatever channel the STB is set to ?. I know ntl are putting analogue 1,2,3,4,5 down their cable as I could tune the TV into these channels if I put their cable directly into the back of the tele (just temporarily), but are these passed through to the RF out ?

It seems odd that there is no RF in (i.e. ariel) input on this STB, how else could I get analogue 1,2,3,4,5 as well as ntl on a second tele in another room ?

Thanks,

Paul.

Re: STB RF Output help

The STB itself does not pass any analogue CATV channels through to it's RF output.
However, the absence of an aerial RF input sounds like you have a Langley Pace STB (BBC1 on 101). If so, you can ask ntl to install a pass-through unit on the STB to enable you to receive the 1-5 analogue cable channels.
Alternatively, you could try asking for a newer STB that has an aerial RF socket.
Bearing in mind that the analogue CATV service will eventually be switched off.

Re: STB RF Output help

Sounds like the Pace box with the seperate combiner unit. This mixes the single NTL RF channel coming out of the STB with the aerial feed to allow channels 1-5 and the NTL channel to be viewed by RF.

That's the one, in that case, how do I turn on the RF output ?, is it the same as the PACE 4000 series ?

Thanks,

Paul.

RF output is set to around 60/65 (What we use) & you dont need to turn it on,it's on already.

Strange, cos there is no output from ours, the tele auto tuned all the way through the channels 21-69 and picked up nothing.

Re: STB RF Output help

Right then, abit more info.

It is definately a PACE Di4001 STB.

Pressing Select, Left and Services as suggested causes a reboot.

Does anyone know how to change the RF out channel on these STB's ????

Thanks a million,

Paul.

Re: STB RF Output help

1-On the remote, press page up/down/blue.That'll take you into a test screen & on their you'll see what your RF out is.
2-Adjust the RF,press"SELECT","VOL-","SERVICES" The front panel shows the RF output channel.Modify this with "CH+" "CH-".
Press "SELECT", "VOL-", "SERVICES ", to store,

Is that Select, Vol- and services on the front panel ? and is that all together or one after the other ?

How come presing select, left arrow and services caused a reboot when i tried it earlier ?

Thanks,

Paul.

I'm sorry, but I think I must be missing something here.

Pressing PageUp/down/blue on the remote does nothing.
Pressing Select, Vol- and Services on the front panel causes a reboot.

I still don't know how I can change the RF channel of my Di4001NC !!

Please help.

Paul.
