I bought one by accident at a house clearance. One of the early Marconi sets where you opened the lid that had a mirror attached underneath, and the CRT mounted vertically.
It only took a couple of weeks to have an enthusiast at our door desperate to buy it. KERCHING!!

Re: Are 70 year old TVs "Antiques"
While many still buy CRT for retro gaming, I use a 42 inch Sony LCD and it's also what I watch my DVDs and Laserdiscs on.
CRTs being the age they are don't have as great a picture now as they are at least 20+ years old and the tubes are fairly worn out and don't always appear as bright. Couple of my retro consoles are also HDMI nodded so easier to connect to modern TVs.
I think officially antique is 100+ plus years old but some consider an item antique if its over 30-40 years old.

Not just latency it's also those old consoles were designed o run on CRTs so some prefer to only use them. However with their age they don't always perform well anymore. Faded and not as bright as they were when new.
Very fond of my 1980 b&w, 12 inch portable TV. Might get it upgraded to receive digital TV one day, or would that spoil it ? That fuzz of no channels is beautifully retro.
