Ultimate Volt Bundle take 2
I posted about this bundle last week, but I had to postpone the swap over due to an engineer visit to sort my phone line out. Anyway, I was told that once that was sorted, I would get a call back, which I did this morning.
But when they were going through the package with me, it became clear this was not the Ultimate Volt package. It was only 600MB B/B, no Netflix, and the O2 SIM only doubled my present data allowance. Bear in mind, this was the same person I spoke to previously, how could she get it so wrong, was she just trying to con me? After me kicking up a fuss, we finally got it sorted after being on the line for 65mins.
The strange thing is, I was quoted last week £84 for TV/BB/Phone line, and £10 for my O2 SIM,£94 total. Today I was quoted £72.50 and £10, £82.50 total, which is less than what I am paying now. Do they just pluck these numbers out of thin air every day? It's crazy, though I'm not complaining.
So, I get the contract through a few hours later, it states I will be getting an extra TV box, which I didn't want, and that there will be a £35 installation/connection fee, which I was told, they would waver. Why is it so hard for them to not get these simple things right? I hope I have finally got it sorted.
I was told an engineer would come to swap my hub 3 over to a Hub 5. Why is this? Can't I do it myself? After reading a thread from January, about people getting the hub 4 instead of the hub 5, is this still happening?

They are sending me mine to do myself, they did offer an engineer, but I said I'd give it a go first.
Delivery has failed twice now as they insist in coming in the morning when no one is here, so I dont know if I've got a 4 or 5 yet (or how to tell, tbh).

I've had the hub 5 for a while now, can't fault it to be honest compared to the 3 the wifi was a lot better, I use my own router now though.

The WiFi 6 makes a massive difference on the Hub 5. I wonder if future Hub 5's will be upgraded to WiFi 6e?

Does a separate router still give better Wi-Fi coverage than the Hub5 With Wi-Fi6?

Finally got it today, its a Hub 5.
I plugged it in, and it fired up fine, and updated itself.
Once that was done, I logged into it and switched it to modem mode.
The hardest part was logging in.
The password on the router was hard to read, specifically one letter.
After a couple of failed attempts, I finally it worked it out to be an 'e'.

It depends on the router. There are many, some are really good others are poor but you get what you pay for.

I took a photo of it and zoomed in. It makes it so much easier.

Re: Ultimate Volt Bundle take 2
I was using a magnifying glass.
It just looks like a 0 with a blob in the middle.
I tried '0', and 'o', then '8', then I thought, maybe its an 'e', and that worked.

Hi - from your sig it looks like you were a VM customer already. They have refused to give me new customer prices, but it looks like they offered them to you. What did you say to get these?
Thank you,
Colin
