I will always remember her as Professor McGonagall. No-one could have played the part better. An extra bit from the first film, not in the book (though it should've been IMO):
Ron: Can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we'd been late?
(The cat sitting on her desk leaps off - and transforms into the teacher in question, who as predicted does not look impressed)
Ron (impressed, even though he's a wizard): That was bloody brilliant!
McGonagall: Thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley. Perhaps I should transfigure you and Mr. Potter into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time.
Harry (lamely): We got lost.
McGonagall: Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats.
Superb. She was born for that role. I bet J.K. wrote it with her in mind.
