TV arial
I thought virgin tv didn't need an arial connected as long as the tv box was connected and the hub was connected to the tv via a cable, when try to watch the tv without an arial connection I get a message on the tv saying no signal. This is a new tv and I didn't have this problem with my old tv, any advice is most welcome

Re: TV arial
Have you selected the correct HDMI cable/connection?

A Cable network should not need an aerial,im not sure why its saying this.....
Mod edit (Chris): This is a forum for users of cable TV in the UK. Please don’t assume American cable service works the same way. I have removed some comments that are only likely to cause confusion.

I think that is the problem Ben 10 has - he's connecting to the Smart TV channels rather than the cable box.

well I've just checked Ben's profile and he appears to have left the forum soon after you posted. As he hasn't come back I'm assuming your post solved his problems.

In a nutshell check the hdmi channel on the tv that your box is (hopefully) plugged in to via an hdmi cable and leave it on that channel.

Plug your Virgin box into the socket labelled HDMI1 on your TV.
Use your TV remote to select HDMI1 as your source.
You do not need to attach an aerial to your TV. It’s just that your new TV is trying to look for Freeview channels when you switch it on. That’s nothing to do with Virgin.

Re: TV arial
This is really weird, connecting your TV to the Virgin service is pretty simple.

Re: TV arial
Ben10: are you using an HDMI cable that was supplied by VM, or a different one? It might be that the cable isn't fast enough for your new TV.
Do you still have the old TV?
