Is kissing your children on the lips overtly sexual?
I think not.
Whilst I realise that it is now emerging that paedophila is much more widespread than was ever imagined and it is appropriate to think about any actions that could be innocently inappropriate or misconstrued, I think that it is also harmful to children not to have any physical contact or affection from other human beings.
Hilary Duff has been criticised for kissing her son on the lips:

This does raise some interesting questions eg does it matter if it is a child of the same or opposite sex?
It was the second article that was discussed earlier today on This Morning:
http://www.itv.com/hub/this-morning/1a1960a5446
Actress Cathy Bussey argued that there is nothing wrong with this practice, whilst journalist Angela Epstein argued that doing this could smack of something more sinister.

If I was to kiss a woman on the lips. I'm sure it would be perceived by her as sexual. And react accordingly.

It's just the usual media nonsense of thinking that just because one in a million cases might actually be something sinister it means that it's wrong for everyone to do it. Attaching stigma to something harmless.

My girls are 31 & 33 and I kiss them and hug them every time I see them. Always have, always will. In our family showing affection is a normal thing to do. Even in public.

Thats the problem with "social" media.
Its partly anti social, and partly populated by a load of weirdos.
She should just stick her middle finger up at them, and carry on.

Kissing children is a surefire way of contracting all manner of nasty colds and diseases.

Re: Is kissing your children on the lips overtly sexual?
It is important to set the example to children of the link between appropriate behaviour and context. The context of kissing on the lips is sexual/romantic, and that is the context that children should be taught that it is appropriate.
