Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
Virgin media have delayed their planned BB speed boost upgrade. My was supposed to be the end of December, as of last week it was the end of January 2016 and now it's been pushed back to February-April 2016 !!
This is poor going from VM as I bet they don't delay the price rise they will be screwing everyone with in February !!!

Re: Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
On the upside no-one has to take the screwing and all are free to leave VM with no penalty due to them

Re: Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
Well its also a good thing its delayed. Means the area clearly isn't ready for it.
It does state that dates may change, its never set in stone.

You may well be alone in thinking that and/or connected to VM in some way.
VM said the vast majority of customers would be upgraded for 'free' before the end of the year. They then announced a massive price rise, and continual delays to upgrades. They must have known full well of the state of their network and the real timetable and that a large proportion wouldn't get their upgrades in the time promised. Its nothing short of lying.

Re: Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
I find it extremely unlikely they'd have knowingly lied about the upgrade timescale.
I suspect a far simpler explanation than malice.

I am just a customer.
Yes my upgrade happened in accordance with the initial date that was set, but they are not lying. They had a plan and have tried to stick to it as much as possible.
But as always happens there are slippages and changes. Movie release dates get pushed back, video game release dates get changed. Doesn't mean you are being lied to at all. These things happen.
The price rise would have happened with or without a speed increase, the two are not linked.
VM have NOT lied.

When you consistently and repeatedly end up with "unexpected" delays every time it's not a simple case of "these things happen".
"These things happen" is OK if one movie gets pushed back, if every movie you made in the last 10 years gets pushed back by a year, there's a systematic problem with your planning and management.

Re: Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
Mines all over the place with dates every other week when I take a look it's a different date...i was end of April 2016 when I checked a few days ago, now it is saying end of Feb 2016 and I am in no doubt it will change again.
Not that I am fussed as on 152mb anyway so the end of the world isn't going to come if I don't get 200mb ASAP like some seem to need it

Sounds like every computer game, electronic product, computer operating system produced in the last 10 years.. Either they're late and the date gets pushed back or the product released isn't quite finished.. At least VM seems to be consistant in pushing back instead of releasing a product which isn't functional at all (yes I know it may not work for everyone but as I live in an area not known for issues I'm happy about that)

Re: Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
I am getting really fed up with the VM BB. Over the last couple of days, its been terrible, very slow.
My wife contacted VM and was given some sob story that it could be the weather effecting it. We were then told and engineer would come and fix it in ONE WEEKS time.
Our area is TW7
VM come out with all this rubbish about Its the best out there. Total rubbish. I pay for a service, l expect it at least 99% of the time
My wife doesn't like to complain, she thinks they will make it worse.

It is the best until it goes wrong lol.
One weeks time is good for this time of year!

Oh I dunno, my phone was released on time. Windows Vista/7/8/10 was released on time. Just Cause 3 was released on time. Most things had a few bugs for some people, not unlike VM's broadband. I'd hardly say anything was "not functional at all".

Re: Virgin media broadband speed boost upgrade delayed !!
In fairness, modern development techniques are very much focussed on a "release early, release often" model.
