Half Speed

I have just been upgraded to 200Mb but several speed tests over a couple of days and the best I can get is about 112Mb download - just over half speed over a cat 5 wired connection. I currently have a superhub 2. Do I need a superhub 3 to get all - or at least most of - my 200Mb?

Re: Half Speed

What OS are you running?

After Vista Windows set connection parameters automatically, not so before.

XP TCPIP REPAIR

I was having speed problems after a free upgrade, A VM ran this and all was well.

Re: Half Speed

Now here's a thing. I run a Mac Pro alongside my PC. I tried the same speed test on the Mac using Safari through a similar cat 5 cable and got... the full monty, 201Mb. Somehow Windows is swallowing half my speed.

I think you'll find the VM tech ran TCPOptimiser as this was the tool of choice for them.

As I recall you broke your machine by running that or something similar. Anything that hasn't been messed with from Vista onwards should be fine.
