So now that Murdoch has managed to pressurise the Tories into forcing the BBC to spend less and therefore drop Formula 1, do you think there's any chance that we could get just the F1 channel without having to pay for all the other sports stuff?

I believe that Channel 4 will be taking up the BBC's terrestrial contract.

Indeed. The change has nothing to do with Sky Sports F1 which is the chargeable channel

True, but that's no different from before. Effectively, all the races previously screened on the BBC will now be shown on Channel 4 instead.

I wonder if the figures/etc work for C4 , if they'll make a bid for all of the races once the current deal runs out.
