BT Sport extra charge

Received a letter from Virgin today announcing that my XL TV package is to include BT Sport and the price will rise by £3 a month from 1st September. I phoned customer services....... 12 minutes wait and the very polite operator offered to slightly reduce the monthly package price (I have 30 meg BB and telephone plus options like CLI) if I accepted a spcial offer to rais my BB to 100mbps but it would still cost more.

I said the bandwidth increase was of little use because the upload speed already drops from 26mps to around 8 mps at peak evening times and likewise upload from 1 or 2 down to less than half a meg. He then said he would put me through to faults..... another 20 mins of music and I have given up.

I have heard that Virgin are about to migrate away from google and last time they changed it was a disaster. I started to receive another subscriber's traffic and lost my SMTP/POP3 connections and traffic for 6 months.

Looks like I had better approach BT's infinity offering in my area (RG42)
