Samsung Galaxy S5
I have just got a Galaxy S5 on EE on a pretty sweet contract. Unlimited Texts and minutes, 2GB 4G for £26.99 with CPW.
Anyway what i wanna know, how do u switch the default saving device to SD Cards with android? I know its possible as i used to do it with my old android but the phone i have had over a year didnt have a SD Slot soooo lol.

Ok I have the opposite issue with my Galaxy Note tablet, the only way I have found is to unmount the SD card.
The problem is if it was mounted any app installed goes straight to the SD card, which when disabled, means it will not run, then you have to go through the mount process and move the app to the device.
I would love to know how to stop this.

There is no global setting. Each application has its own settings. What exactly are you trying to save to SD cards?

On my old samsung galaxy ace years ago there was a setting to make the SD card the preferred device to save to.
So if for example someone emailed me a pic or i saved a pic it would have saved it to SD instead of phone.

it is running lollipop. First thing it did on wifi was to download a 360mb update and it says Android 5.0.

So as I understand it on Lollipop apps can request permission to save to an SD Card folder, but they don't have the blanket access that Android use to allow.
If the app doesn't request access, it can save to it's own data folder only.

It was never completely disabled, only aftermarket apps that did not have the appropriate permissions were unable to save to SD card.
Built-in (system) apps have always been able to save to SD card even on KitKat.
It is true though, that you can no longer write anywhere arbitrarily in any app without asking first.

About 30 mins ago my phone stated there was a software update for android which was over 300mb.
I have downloaded it and all is well, but i cant see anything different. At first i thought when it was installing it was the 5.0.2 update but phone still says 5.0 and i cant seem to find anything online referencing what this update was all about.
Can anyone shed some light? Maybe you to had the update?

I have to say the latest upgrade has helped a bit with battery draining issues that are in Lollipop but still not perfect yet.
