TiVo not recording

trying to record a program off of 5USA and the Tivo box doesn't seem to want to record it. Had it set for series link and the box didn't pick it up. Any one got any idea . Thanks

Have you set the series link recording options for new and reruns.

If it isn't what richard s suggests, have a look in Recording Hiccups to see why it isn't recording.

Go into "My Planned Recordings" and press the blue button a few times until it says "show(all)" and you will see the repeats that won't be recorded because they are duplicates(already recorded) or re-runs.

Many thanks thanks to you all. It was the recording options that I needed to change,but all your post have taught me something new so thanks.

Now all this has created another problem. The show I'm recording is Law & Order :SVU. This airs on a Thursday at 9pm. If I set the box for series link it sets up to record the same episode the following Wednesday. How can I set the box to just record it on Thursday only. Not had Tivo box long so still finding my way around it Many thanks again

Is it a new series SVU? If it is you can change the settings of the series link to record "new only" and the Tivo should not record any repeats. You can access the it either through pressing OK on a recorded episode in My Shows and More Options and then Modify This Series Link or via the Manage My Series Links, which is accessed though the My Shows and Recordings menu on the home page.

If you are recording old episodes from repeated series then I am pretty certain (but not 100%) you will keep getting all the other old episodes you don't want.

The new series of SVU doesn't start for another month, Sunday 15th Feb.

I've just set up a "New & Reruns" Series Link for it, and it's only going to record the Thursday one for me. Check if you've accidentally selected "Everything" instead of "New & Reruns".

Hi Spider. Just checked settings etc. Got it on new & reruns and it still picked up both days. I did delete everything to start with and started it fresh. AS long as I get thurdays I aint to worried, Thanks for help
