Is TVAnywhere soon to be available on 3G?

From this link, scroll down and centre of the page.

http://store.virginmedia.com/special...ky-switcher-55

Tv on the go
All you need is a WiFi, 3G, 4G or broadband connection in the UK

Or is this just referring to the sky sports/movie channels, only it doesn't make it clear.
It is misleading though.

Re: Is TVAnywhere soon to be available on 3G?

3G/4G allows management of TiVO boxes only.

The important bit is in the T&C's at the bottom of the page:

"On the go – Virgin TV Anywhere, Sky Movies & Sky Sports: UK only. Maximum 2 devices. Selected content may not be available to view. Virgin TV Anywhere: Content available to view depends on TV package. Not all channels from relevant pack available. Live streaming and On Demand available in the UK with broadband or WiFi internet access only. Access via PC, Mac or TV Anywhere App (TiVo customers only). TiVo tools for TiVo customers only. Minimum 800Kbps recommended per device accessing the service concurrently."

Re: Is TVAnywhere soon to be available on 3G?

Can anyone also ask me why you need to have a wire plugged all the time into into your tivo box in order to stream tv channels on your mobile phone? yet sky plus doesnt need this? its not as if we can watch recordings from our tivo box so why does it need to be plugged in?

You don't.

That is only needed when using the app as a remote control.

Vince, the streaming channels are available on your phone or tablet regardless of whether you have your TiVo networked or not. The only benefit of having your TiVo networked is that you can use your device as a remote control.

In a word 'no'. They could enable 3G/4G streaming if they wished.

I don't think they've paid for streaming rights, that's the problem.

I used to have Sky Sports streaming as a freebie from Orange, but the quality was unwatchable.

I can watch sky sports streaming on 3/4G. Quality is decent these days! But to be fair I'm on 4G these days
