Re: Think my v+ box is dead
Sound like bite the bullet time. I am sure I read somewhere that VM are still swapping V+ for V+ so you may not have to go over to a TiVo unless that is what you want. I am sure one of our VM members will be able to confirm if this is still the case.

As suggested give VM a call and get an engineer out to swap your box.

Maggy, have you looked at switching to one of the newer big bundles as they'll give you a TiVo and if you get a nice advisor or try retentions, may even waive the install fee.

Re: Think my v+ box is dead
Considering the current TiVO count, there are a lot of V+ boxes still in peoples homes, & while there are still spares to refurb the V+ boxes that conk out, they wont offer gratis TiVO swapouts.

Lots. Bear in mind VM have been allowing people to keep their V+ as a second box when upgrading to TiVo.
There are plenty in storage too.

We have just arranged to move to Tivo as the 3rd V+ box that we have had in 10 months appears to have given up the ghost. So have bitten the bullet and are paying £5 per month extra to get a second Tivo in the house, being delivered tomorrow for a self install, refused to pay the £20 delivery charge though.

Trouble is that any/all V+ boxes now supplied are refurbished units, so all you get is some ones problems.

Re: Think my v+ box is dead
They still seem to be doing "Sky Switcher" offers giving the V+ as a second room recorder too.
