MPEG 4

Is there any time scale for Virgin to switch to MPEG 4 compression? I know this relies on ridding the network of the SA boxes.

That's not an issue as they aren't HD-capable either. MPEG-4 only makes sense for HD channels.

To answer the OP, no timescale has been announced but it is regularly reviewed. When it makes commercial sense, it'll happen.
