Question Inputs switching

Just recently got worse, when watching TIVo recordings through HDMI my sony TV input switches to my Pioneer HDD/DVD recorder on AV1 that is connected my TIVo via the scart output!

The mad thing for a majority of the time this Pioneer box is not used and switched off at the mains

Re: Inputs switching

See if your TV's settings have an option to disable SCART AV control.

Failing that, plan B is to open up the SCART plug at the TV end and snip the wire that goes to pin 8. (The pin numbers are usually moulded into the black plastic, but if not, Google it).

If you do either of these, you will then have to manually select the SCART input on the TV remote whenever you want to watch a DVD.

Could not find any scart disable on my TV, so went for plan B, pull/snapped the pin 8 from the scart that is between the TIVo out and recorder in, left the scart lead intact between the DVD recorder and TV though to allow auto switching when the recorder is switched on from standby!

Let's hope that solves the problem, interesting side effect from this problem, when you fast forwarded on a Tivo recording it auto switched to AV1 dvd recorder. This was annoying as the recorder was switched off it went to a blank screen on the TV and if I pressed the stop button on my VM remote control it would switch back to my HDMI Tivo output

Thanks for your continuing help SP you are a credit to VM!

Re: Inputs switching

The problem has now gone away after removing pin 8 from my scart lead! The curiosity factor makes me wonder how my Tivo box auto switched my TV between AV inputs even though the box it was daisy chained to was switched off?

I guess it is wired straight from input to output so doesn't need any power.
