Series linking on TiVo

Just had TiVo box installed and am trying to get to grips with it. How (step-by-step) do I record a series without getting the repeats as well. For example, I want Modern Family on Monday nights on Sky 1, but none of the repeats or older programmes that might appear on Sky 1 or other channels. When I set a series link, I get a list of all programmes on the Planned Series listing. Thought this was supposed to be idiot-proof!

Re: Series linking on TiVo

Go to Home -> My Shows & Recordings -> Manage My Series Links, press OK on the series, and select Change Recording Options. Change "New & Repeats" to "New Only".

Incidentally it would only record programmes on Sky1 anyway. Series Links only work on a single channel. Compare with WishLists which can record off any channel.

ps. Welcome to the forum!

Re: Series linking on TiVo

Thanks for your prompt answer. I'll certainly try that convinced it's the answer. I can't help feeling that the TiVo system was not designed by Systems Analysts with end-users in mind. I find the user interface and navigation very strange. Then, perhaps, my best technical days are behind me. If you are interested, the first computer I programmed was the Harwell Dekatron WITCH. It's just been re-started at the National Computer Museum, but can be seen on Youtube. Thos were the days!! Thanks again.
