Question Should I complain about my 90Mb/s speeds?

Hi. the speeds I get no matter what time of day or what day of the week are similar to below. I tested with my PC connected directly to superhub via ethernet and the result was exactly the same.

I am on the 120Mb/s package so only getting 75% of what I pay for (although I do understand it is 'up to' 120Mb/s).

It seems as if I am throttled as it ALWAYS 90Mbit/s, never higher than 91 and rarely lower than 89.

I phoned a while back but the Indian guy I spoke to couldn't understand my problem. He kept on saying 'So you want to complain about your very slow broadband speeds?' and no matter how many times I explained he just couldn't understand and he made up some story about maintenance in my area even though its been like this ever since the 100Mb/s upgrade.

So my original question, should I complain? Or is there a way to get my full d/l speed. By the way my router lists 120000000 as my max download speed so router setting are correct I think.

Cheers for help, Ouch

Is your network card running at gigabit speeds?

Odd your router should list your max download speed as 120Mb. It should be 133Mb.

I'd check that your network card on your PC/Laptop is GB and not 100mb first, also if not using your own router that it has GB ports.

you'd get 95 -97 if your card was 100/10/10. as that's what I used to get before I upgraded. But I guess some older ones will do less?

Re: Should I complain about my 90Mb/s speeds?

Thanks you guys are awesome. Checked my network card and it was indeed at 100Mbps (Full Duplex).

I changed it to 1.0Gbps and lost my connection entirely. Guessing it was my wireless router causing an issue (not supporting 1.0Gbps) I connected directly to the Superhub and Voila!

Now I just need to try and figure out what password I set my hub to so that the other devices in the house can connect wirelessly.

Thanks again, Ouch

if in doubt do a hard reset and take the info from the sticker and put it back to what you had before. and I am glad it's sorted!
