temp files sit on your hard drive not in ram ( unless you set it that way) how much ram does the system have? ( right click my computer and select properties )

Re: My Laptop keeps telling me my memory is low
The laptop has 6.0GB of ram tiz so there should not be a problem but the message of your memory is low keeps on coming up and not being a expert l am not educated enough to solve it..

Re: My Laptop keeps telling me my memory is low
Den, just in case you're not sure how to find the details being asked for just open 'My Computer' from the start menu, right click on the 'c' drive icon then click on 'properties' at the bottom of the drop down menu. If you right click somewhere else in the My Computer screen and do the same thing it will tell you your computer's spec. HTH.

Re: My Laptop keeps telling me my memory is low
Silly questions I know but have you done a full Virus and Malware scan?
Checked for any Windows Updates?
Checked using the Task Manager or Performance monitor to see what is using all the ram up?

Re: My Laptop keeps telling me my memory is low
Move your cursor to the left of any icons you have in your task bar at the bottom right of your screen.
Right click and you should have a pop-up menu which contains a link to your Task Manager.
Right click on that link and your task manager will come up. You can then choose the Performance tab.
Hope the above makes sense.

Re: My Laptop keeps telling me my memory is low
I think what Damien was telling you to look at was actually under the Processes tab.
For example, my highest process user when I am just browsing is Firefox. Using around 300MB
If you right click on where it says MEMORY it will sort the processes out into highest/lowest and knowing your highest processes may throw some light on what is causing your laptop to eat up your memory.

Looking at the processes
Internet explorer is way way top of the list with 811,2 MB and that is followed a long way back by Spotify , Windows explorer and Norton itself is nowhere to be seen

Could it be because l have quite a few tabs open? as l have cut out three tabs and it has gone down by half.
