Currently we have a TiVo in the lounge and V+ box in the dining room - this box must be at least 4 years old I reckon as we used to have it in the lounge then upgraded probably 18 months ago to add a TiVo. We don't get charged for the V+ box. We have virgin phone and broadband and pay around £60 something a month on one of the premium collections with telephone line rental paid a year in advance. What we would like to know is how much would it cost to upgrade the V+ box to a 1TB TiVo (if we did this we would put our current TiVo in the dining room as only 500GB memory and 70% full with films!!) If it is going to cost a lot we will stick as we are for now. Also is it worth upgrading to a superhub (we get 60MB broadband) thanks
I would ring retentions if I were you to get the best deal. Some people on here have been given the box for free with free installation as well. It will probably cos you a bit extra per month though with you opting to have a second TiVo but that's something you could also discuss with retentions. It's also worth noting that any deal you strike with them will more than likely be subject to you signing up for a further 12/18 months.
Ring 150 then options 5 then 3 and they'll be able to help.
I will have to check when we changed our package to premier collection cos that might be less than a year cos we kept getting leaflets through the door and when we looked we could get a better package for less money - can't remember whether it was this summer or last
You should be able to re-contract with them, I've done it before. I had 8 months left on my contract when I re-contracted. You could also use the fact that there is an impending price increase on its way soon to also negotiate a deal which is best for you.
