what happens to them - do they get paid by the insurance company till the place

I suspect the tab gets picked up by the insurance company and the Government.

I used that place often, and never thought there could be that many people working there!

After the Xmas rush they usually went into limbo mode until the Spring, so I suppose seasonal workers won't be needed this year.

I bought my cherry tree there in the mid nineties - but have yet to see a cherry on it - but I suspect that the birds eat them as soon as they see them (going slightly off topic)

Providing they had decent insurance, yes.

It's called business interruption.

I'm just renewing mine now and have up to 2 years cover for that included.
