TiVo Streaming

Im thinking of downgrading my internet from 120mb to 60mb and getting a second TiVo box for the bedroom. Id then like to make use of the streaming function between the TiVo's.

So what I wanted to ask is does my actual internet upload speed affect the streaming? As if it does then I will stay at 120mb. Any other info would be most welcome.

Also does anybody know if you can get a male to male one of these, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOSO-5-X-F...item2c67199f91

Re: TiVo Streaming

TiVo streaming isn't the same as internet streaming. There are only certain channels that allow it as per this page http://store.virginmedia.com/discove...ing/intro.html

Re: TiVo Streaming

TIVO doesn't use your broadband, it has its own dedicated broadband, be aware that very few channels are available for streaming between the two boxes, blame the broadcasters for their prehistoric restrictions

It's unclear as to who is to blame.

Maybe the broadcasters will allow it but want more money, or they just reuse to allow it.

And if they will allow it but do want more money for it, is it a reasonable fee but VM won't pay it, or is it an exorbitant fee and VM are right not to pay it?

Sadly, people like us will probably never know the real reason.

I was recently looking at Freeview PVRs for someone, and apparently the New Panasonic ones will stream recorded shows to another Panny Freeview PVR and some other devices. I'm not sure if any cannel restrictions apply though.

Re: TiVo Streaming

Does streaming from one TIVO to another actually go over the internet, or just through your local router?
