As an atheist i hate having my door knocked on a Sunday morning by those who feel i should be converted to there way of thinking. A quick SOD off followed by a question of "are you faster than my dog in a sprint to my gate "

Re: Where people don't believe in God.
Why don't they just call it a club and not a church?
My niece was going through a God phase. on her dad's side of the family somebody scared her into thinking that there's a possibility that 'God' may strike her down dead for one reason or another.
she's ok now. she even argues with Siri about the man.

I find charities knocking on my door expecting me to set up a regular direct debit annoying yet I am still polite to them.

Yes we have had that scenario quite a few times and as like you we always find polite conversation without committing to anything is always the best way.

My sister was talking about them last night. the amount of charities she's been approached by at the door or on the street asking for bank details to set up a direct debit.

I find it easier to not answer the door.
When I used to tell them where to go the JW's used to call regularly. I guess they enjoyed winding me up.
Since I stopped opening the door they don't call anymore. Sorted

Charities get the same treatment as well.

Re: Where people don't believe in God.
I put a sign up saying only knock if you know me. It seems to work.

Re: Where people don't believe in God.
sticky tape two bits of 3/4 pipe together and waggle them out of the letter flap
it seems to keep unwanted guests away
