And so I have a question: I have series links on several of these channels (notably Alibi HD). Will the series link follow the channel change, or will it try to record from the same number? i.e. from Wednesday, will my Alibi HD series links work properly and still record from Alibi HD on 200, or will they try to get stuff on Alibi +1 on 131?

I would assume so, but a very good point. I'll keep an eye out on that.

As in, I assume it will update to the new channel number.

Re: Question - TiVo series links and changing channel numbers
Yeah, Series Links on TiVo are linked to a hidden value so they will always work even if the channel number or name changes.

Re: Question - TiVo series links and changing channel numbers
Has anyone noticed Series Links adding extra episodes recently?
I have my Series Links set so that they only record new episodes, but recently it has been recording the same program twice at different times. So technically, the second recording isn't brand new.

What you should find is that both episodes have been marked in the EPG as NEW.

If the guide data is wrong then TiVo won't take a risk but will record it anyway to make sure you don't miss it.

The guide seems fine, but is there anyway to stop this?

Email details to tivoguideerrors-at-virginmedia.co.uk. Please be very specific (channel number, date, time, and what is wrong)

Talking about the UKTV move and how the tivo boxes would handle the change, I caught the channels changing over starting at 2.30 this morning and took some snaps. It's not as if I had anything else to do at that time ....(Sleep)!:
First of all, the channels that were moving were all renumbered 245 onwards and positioned in the documentaries section of the epg:
Then the channels were moved into their new positions but still numbered 245 onwards:
All done and my series link recording of Bondi Rescue (quality programme, that!) was unaffected by the changes.

Re: Question - TiVo series links and changing channel numbers
Channel number changes will be fine in Tivo.
However if the program itself 'moves' to a different channel that will break the series link as far as I can remember as the series link is program and channel specific.
i.e. if you set a series link for Family Guy on FX then Tivo won't record Family Guy shown on BBC Three

Correct. You'd need a wishlist for that.
