Picture/sound breakup on some channels

I have just located this forum via Google. I'm not normally one for internet forums as they generally contain reams of trivia and opinionated twoddle, however I've had this problem with my Virgin service for many months and nobody at Virgin Media seems to care despite me repeatedly informing the overseas call centre every time it occurs.

I get pixellation and intermittent sound on my Virgin service from time to time and its always on the same channels. BBC3, BBc4, CBBC, 5* and occasionally some HD channels. Some evenings these channels are perfectly watchable but I'd say four, sometimes five evenings the pixellation is dreadful, the annoyance of not being able to watch some good programmes on BBC4 or the upcoming womens football on BBC3 just makes things worse.

I have tried rebooting the box every time this happens but it solves nothing, as does changing the input from the HDMI to scart. So, in the obvious lack of information coming from the Virgin call centre, I have deduced that my box is faulty or there's some issues with signal strength.

Do any other Virgin users suffer with pixellation on the same channels I am wondering????

Thank You

Ashkenazy.

Re: Picture/sound breakup on some channels

I'm amazed they haven't fixed this. You've almost certainly got a signal quality fault, and need technician visit.

I suggest you post details of the problem on the official VM forum. It's run by UK-based staff, and they should book a tech for you.

Re: Picture/sound breakup on some channels

Thank you for that, Spiderplant - more specifically for the link. I will do that later on.
