contacts not loading
hi guys,ever since we seem to be getting yet another of version of e mail from google/virgin my contacts list seem to be stuck on "loading".everything else seems fine not that i use it for much more that sending recieving e mails.why oh why do they change it,if it aint broke dont fix it.any ideas?. cheers john

If it helps you are not alone!!
This has been bugging me for some time now. Its not the end of the world as when I start to type the name of the contact a list does come up for selection. If I want to use a group (which I do frequently) I have to go into contacts select the group then all and new message. Rather long winded but it works.

guys,thanks for the quick replies,montehamster i cannot even get into my groups all i get is a spinning "circle"and the loading wording the cancel button is the only one that works.glad to hear its a known problem.no doubt it will get sorted in due course,cheers john

figgyburn - you need to go into contacts where you should see on the left a list of your groups. Click on the one you want and it should come up with a listing. Select all and then click on the new mail icon. Long winded but it should work.
Virgin and Google have known about this for two weeks now and still not resolved it! If only BT would upgrade my exchange (sighs!).

Another week gone by and no fix. Problems now with the search facility on webmail. For a communications company Virgin are an absolute joke!!
Neither of these problems arise with gmail so the problem is down to Virgin and is either not solvable or is not being given any priority. Unfortunately BT have no plans to get my exchange upgraded so I'm stuck with this shambles. A

Gmail and Google Apps are separate products. Issues can arise with Google Apps based services that don't effect Gmail, however the technical support of Google Apps does reside with Google. When customer issues are identified that are outside of VM's systems then VM will raise with Google, and it's down to Google to identify the fixes

It seems to me Virgin never accept responsibility for anything - someone else is always to blame! Google for email problems, Tivo for EPG problems, Sky for lack of channels etc.
The problem that I have is that to get anywhere near a decent broadband speed I'm stuck with Virgin until such time as BT get their act together and improve the exchange.
Virgin chose Google so what steps are they taking to press for a resolution to a problem with their email service? Sitting on your a*s saying it ain't my problem is not a satisfactory answer.

VM aren't saying that though. They have raised it as a fault the same as they do with any other reported issue, and have passed it to the appropriate techology team for resolution - in this case Google.

I am your customer, I pay you for a service not Google.
As far as I can see from your (no) help forum there has been no explanation as to the cause of the problem (presumably some software change was made and could be "rolled back"?), two so called dates for resolution have come and gone and still we have no idea when a fault on the service we continue to pay full price will be rectified.
It's now approaching a month since this was identified this simply isn't good enough!

I still have the problem - anyone have any news on it? My contacts work fine in my normal gmail account but not in any VM gmail accounts.

I too still have the same problem.i just want to send all my mates the funny emails I receive by just forwarding on through the contacts list and pressing send.nice and simple that even this computer novice can do and what I used to be able to do before google changed things..this whole e mail thing is getting way to complicated these days.google if it aint broke don't fix it.seriously I cannot believe that the mighty google cannot get this sorted before now.i thought they employed the best techies or, so they keep telling us.cheers john
