Transfer program from Tivo to PC
Just wondering if this can be done before I unplug my tower pc and move it next to my Tivo.
Or is there any other way to backup a program from the Tivo box.
Thanks

There are a few ways to do it, HD fury and hauppauge HD pvr 2 spring to mind, neither are cheap though.

You can copy it to a DVD recorder using the Scart connection. HD shows will SD though.

You could pull the HDD out, there are a billion and one .tivo file converters.
I'd imagine that also breaks a billion and one agreements and contracts though.

Would connecting the TiVo HDMI cable to laptop work in being able to record shows onto the laptop as it is being watched?

No, most of the programmes recorded on the Tivo are encrypted. Besides, I don't know of a single computer with a built in HDMI in socket. Where they do have HDMI sockets, they will be outputs.

It does. it violates the terms and conditions under which you use the Tivo, and could result in your contract being terminated. Please do not discuss specifics of how to do this on the forum.
