The Opening Ceremony should be fantastic. I hope they turn the whole day into a World Carnival.

Re: Rio to host 2016 Olympics
That was my preferred option. Rio is one City I hope to visit so if I start saving now I could combine seeing the city with seeing the Olympics.
Alternatively... I could start training for a something and get selected to represent the Republic of Scotland
Does anybody know if remote control hogging and channel flicking are likely to be one of the Olympic disciplines in 2016?

Not likely, but if Scotland breaks away from the UK and gets its own Olympic Association, we might successfully lobby to have Buckfast drinking and fish supper eating added to the list.

Shur Shaun would shurely inshist on the inclusion of deep fried mars bars for the finale.
I tried buckie for the first (and only) time about 5 years ago. I'm sorry I didn't try it when I was 14. It would have put me off alcohol for life...YUCH. It's no wonder that Scotland's ned find it difficult to string a sentence together.
